Increased visa application charges

The Australian government increased visa application charges (VACs) from 1 July 2024.

Most VACs saw an increase per the 2024-25 forecast CPI, however the Student (subclass 500) visa saw a significant increase, with the base application charge now amounting to $1,600.

A summary of the changes for some common visa types is included below:
