Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) to commence in October 2024

By 8 August, 2024December 4th, 2024No Comments1 min read

Administrative Review Tribunal (ART)

Relevant legislation that will abolish the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) and replace it with the new Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) passed Parliament in May 2024, and received royal asset in June 2024.

The Attorney General has announced that the new ART will commence from 14 October 2024.

What about existing matters with the AAT?

All matters that are currently before the AAT will automatically transition to the new ART. This means that cases will continue as normal, and individuals with ongoing cases do not need to submit a new application.

What about finalised matters?

All AAT decisions that have already been finalised will not be reconsidered by the ART.
